PHNOM PENH — Cambodia will start military conscription next year, Prime Minister Hun Manet said on Monday, amid rising tensions over the nation’s border with Thailand.
Speaking at the anniversary of a military police academy, the prime minister said he would implement a 2006 law that mandates 18 months of conscription for Cambodian men aged between 18 and 30.
