Marylanders Angel Reese and Carmelo Anthony will be featured on special edition covers of the NBA 2K26 video game, 2K Games announced Wednesday.

Reese, a two-time All-Star with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, also unveiled a signature shoe on Wednesday. With the Reese 1 by Reebok, the 23-year-old native of Randallstown, Maryland, became the fifth active WNBA player with her own design.

“Being on the cover of NBA 2K26 and debuting my first-ever signature shoe with Reebok on that cover, the Angel Reese 1, is more than a milestone — it’s a statement,” the WNBA’s leading rebounder said in a news release. “It’s about representation and showing young girls they can be confident, bold, and take up space unapologetically.”

Reese will appear on the WNBA edition of the game.

Anthony, who grew up in Baltimore, will be highlighted on the superstar edition. The Syracuse product is set to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in September after 19 seasons in the NBA.

The duo joins Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. 2K Games announced that the reigning MVP would grace the game’s default cover on Tuesday.

“To be cemented in NBA 2K history is a special honor that reflects not only my journey, but also all the veteran WNBA players who have paved the way before me and the growing impact of the league as a whole,” Reese said.

NBA 2K26 will cost $69.99 and be released on Sept. 5.
