SEOUL, June 30 (Yonhap) -- South Korean Industry Minister Ahn Duk-geun met with his Lithuanian counterpart Monday to discuss ways to expand bilateral trade, investment and industrial cooperation, especially in advanced industries, Ahn's office said. Ahn held a meeting with visiting Lithuanian Minister of Economy and Innovation Lukas Savickas in Seoul, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. In the meeting, Ahn said the two countries can bolster collaboration in advanced industries, highlighting Lithuania's top-notch capabilities in laser technologies and South Korea's competitive edge in the semiconductor and display industries, where laser technology is frequently used for manufacturing. Savickas said Lithuania can serve as a foothold for South Korean companies operating in Europe, noting the country is pushing to lower its corporate tax rate and provide various business support measures, according to the ministry.
