JAKARTA — The renewable energy arm of Pertamina, Indonesia’s state-owned oil and gas company, is preparing the groundwork for the country’s first nuclear energy project while actively expanding its solar capacity with an eye to selling electricity to Singapore, its chief executive told Nikkei Asia.
John Anis, CEO of Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (NRE), said on Wednesday that the company has set up a task force to support its nuclear ambitions. This comes after state electricity utility Perusahaan Listrik Negara revealed last month its latest 10-year electricity procurement plan.
